What does a session look like?
Sessions range from 15-50 minutes depending on Spellers stamina and level. The sessions are typically one-to-one but can also be done in groups (this is a great way to make new friends, see different perspectives, and for parents to practice on the boards with less pressure). The biggest goal each session is to build up a spellers independence and confidence while accurately using the boards to promote communication and fluency.
A session includes:
- One-on-one practitioner support by sitting by the student throughout the lesson
- Co-regulation with the speller to help regulate the body to spell — this can also include body breaks if needed
- Presuming competence through age appropriate lessons
- Parent/caregiver involvement if desired to sit in on the session (materials are provided for questions that may come up during the session)
- Scaffolded approach through the different types of boards and question types being asked to build up independence and leading up to answering open-ended questions
- **Recorded sessions and transcripts of the lesson via online if requested

What is a Sliding Scale?
A sliding scale allows each family to choose a rate that feels sustainable based on their financial situation. The intention is to create fairness, flexibility, and access while ensuring high quality support to all spellers.
Example of the scale:
$50-$65: For families with limited financial resources or multiple ongoing out of pocket therapy expenses
$70-$85: For families with moderate financial flexibility
$90-$100: For families with stable income who are able to also contribute toward supporting accessibility for others as well as their speller.
Please note, there is no application process or proof required for this. Simply choose the rate that feels right for your family and your needs and communicate this rate to your practitioner.
Travel Clause:
Local Travel: Anywhere within 30 miles of practitioner location…………………………………FREE
“In State” Travel: Within 1-3 hours of practitioner location to subsidize for gas costs + vehicle maintenance …………………………………………………………………………………………………………..$50
Out of State Travel: Anything longer than 3+ hours away that may result in flying or extra costs on an individual basis. Pre-discussed before travel occurs……………………SITUATIONAL
